Equal Love Iron-On Embroidered Patch
Equal Love Iron-On Embroidered Patch
Equal love is a small phrase with a very large legal history behind it.
This patch condenses one of the central demands of LGBTQ+ rights movements into something you can wear on a sleeve, bag or jacket. Love should not become less protected, less recognised or less ordinary because the people involved are queer.
The equality-and-love message is stitched as a compact graphic that can stay readable on sleeves, pockets and bags without becoming a miniature protest sign. The softness of embroidery sits nicely against the seriousness of the idea.
Equal Love works as a queer rights patch because affection and legal recognition have never been completely separable for LGBTQ+ people. Cute embroidery, serious subtext.
